Posted by Carl on Apr 24, 2009 in Good Going

Trying to look up unlisted phone numbers by tracing the number could be a rather exasperating task. To top it off, there are unfair amounts of bad publicity online on this as well. Figures show that the number of people with the need to run such searches has been growing in tandem with the explosive usage of the cell phone. Hence these are the new breed of people who have great need for the reverse cell phone lookup service. Below are some key search tips which you will need to be realistic about in order to set your expectations right.

There are countless sites touting to provide free reverse phone lookups, and yet some more which advertise free reverse cell phone lookups. While it is a half truth for the former, there is absolutely no truth in the later. To find a true reverse phone finder service, you will have to pay a fee. Land lines are public domain information and hence are available in free phone directories or white pages. Unlisted or Cell phone numbers on the other hand are not public domain information and hence not available readily for free. The sites that claim free cell phone searches are trying to attract potential users to try and sign up for the service.

Companies that provide this service often boast having about 95 percent of all cell phone numbers in their database. However, logic and common sense would tell us that we need to give room for gaps in between updating, and attrition rate of cell phone ownerships. Hence, be realistic that there might still be that 5 percent which could be missing from the database. It could be an issue of timing, which by my experience, could be eventually included into the database after a period.

There are powerful cell phone directories which allow you to run initial search hence allowing you to preview and test the robustness of their database and helps you confirm whether the phone number you are trying to trace are included within the database pool. This step actually helps reduce your frustration, and when you find that the number in question is not in their database, you are then free to move on to the next site.

The final step is simple in that you either exit the site or sign up for the service in which case, you are given immediate access to the system and input the number for your full report within minutes. Learn to make your online searches more enjoyable and less painful with the reverse cell phone lookup.
