Nanna And Her Young Assistant

Posted by Carl on Nov 28, 2009 in Good Going

This month I see my grandmother. I anticipate seeing her, though she has become a little stubborn in her later years. I will not embarrass her by sharing her age, but let’s simply suppose she is a lady with exhaustively seasoned wisdom.

The last time I saw her I brought in my yamaha keyboard so I could perform some music for her. She enjoyed it, but unfortunately since she’s not completely there, she kept interrupting me to ask me how to clean computer screen. Yes, she really uses a computer. And maybe she was interrupting me because I am just that poor at playing the keyboard.

I always discover something puzzling at her place when I see her. Last time, I found many books on penny stocks on her coffee table. My grandmother learning about trading penny stock? That is nuts. I wonder what I will discover on her coffee table this time.

This month will make for a busy visit. I have to install her fresh Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then fix her garden cart. I likewise must take her old pots and pans to charity because she recently bought a fresh collection of pots and pans to supplant them. As a reward, she claims to also have purchased the best ice cream maker and the greatest of all the electic coffee makers. I appreciate it, but I also must laugh softly as she invariably claims to have or utilize only the very best of this or that.

If everything goes well, she’ll employ both to serve me some fabulous coffee in the morning and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than pay back enough for my assistance. I am happy to help her out for nothing, but a little rich coffee and sweat ice cream does not hurt.
